Master units for Yongnuo flashes and triggers

The master is the unit that triggers the other flashes (slaves) to go off. There are several Yongnuo flashguns and speedlite transmitters that can be used as master units in the Canon/Nikon optical wireless flash system. Yongnuo speedlites like YN600EX-RT, YN568EX II, Yongnuo YN560 IV can be used as a master units. Yongnuo YN-E3-RT, YN622C-TX, YN622N-TX, YN560-TX, ST-E2 wireless transmitter are capable of controlling flashes as well – therefore acting as the Master. On the contrary, the slaves are a group (or groups) or flashes controlled by the master. Slaves will all fire together as long as the infrared blinker on the front of the flash is facing towards the master. These flashes can be set to automatically adjust their own metering (E-TTL II) or to fire in a ratio of some sort.

Yongnuo YN-E3-RT is a great commander for Canon 600EX-RT, 430EX III-RT or Yongnuo YN600EX-RT flashes with built in wireless receiver. Yongnuo YN622C-TX and YN622N-TX are excellent flash controllers for YN622C II and YN622N II wireless triggers. These are some of the best radio triggers for Canon and Nikon wireless setup
